The Eyot Centre is to refurbish it’s water frontage in 2018. The work will see the replacement of our landing stages, a new slip way and additional safety features. The river bank has become heavily eroded by river traffic. The bank will be reinforced with ecologically friendly stone in cages to support new bank side planting. There will be an access path along the length of the river to allow wheelchair access and lighting to enable users safe paddling after dark. The project is described more fully in the Design and Access Statement. This link will take you to it. Design and Access Statement for The bank side repairs at the Eyot Centre

Planning permission has been obtained for the work. British Canoeing has also confirmed its support for the scheme.
The estimate for the cost of the work is £75,000 including VAT. Thamesfield Youth Association have confirmed their support for the scheme and backed this with the offer of a grant of £10,000. We have commenced an application to South Oxfordshire District Council in who’s geographical area the majority of our users – individuals, schools and youth groups reside.
We plan to carry out the work during the summer of 2018 between the Henley Regatta in July and our September Marathon Canoe race fixture. If you think you can help with our fundraising then please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
